A Healthier you in 2020

1 in 5 Brits made a New Year’s resolution last year, with younger people the most likely to do so, and 27% of those people managed to them.

Psychologists say that you’re more likely to succeed if you break your resolution into smaller goals that are specific, measurable and time based. For example instead of saying ‘I want to lose weight’ say I want to lose half a stone and give yourself a deadline.

Giving yourself a smaller, clearer and more achievable goals could help you develop good habits and get your year off to a healthy start.

There’s lots of help out there should your resolution be to stop smoking. Quit Ready is a local service which offers a tailored stop smoking programme led by you the patient.

Meet the Team

We would like to invite our patients to a ‘meet the team’ event at the Queen’s Head on Wednesday 18th March from 6.30PM to 8PM.

Whether you have been a patient at the surgery for many years or have just joined us this will be a great opportunity to find who is who and what do. The event will be attended by representatives from the GP, Nursing, Dispensary and Reception teams as well as members of our Patient Participation Group.

So why not join us for a cuppa and a catch-up?

Teenage Cancer Trust

We will be holding a fund raising walk for the Teenage Cancer Trust on Saturday 2 May.

The plan is for friends of the Practice and staff to meet at Cloud Wood Trail at 10AM onwards for a leisurely walk.

We won’t be walking for long, maybe about an hour, so the event won’t be sponsored as such but donations can be made to the Teenage Cancer Trust either on the day or on the Just Giving Website – details to follow.

As an extra incentive to join in, coffee and cake will be provided for all those taking part, so make a note in your diary!
